The courage to be seen does not stop with us. It becomes a responsibility to create the kind of safety, dignity, and belonging that helps others show up fully and grow into who they are capable of becoming.

Some people enter our lives and awaken possibilities we cannot yet see in ourselves. This is a reflection on the teachers, coaches, mentors, and leaders who help shape who we become—and the responsibility we all carry to do the same for others.

For years, I believed belonging required sameness. Life taught me something different. The strongest relationships and healthiest teams are not built on perfect agreement, but on respect, trust, and the safety to bring our full selves into the room.

For years, hiding felt like protection. What I eventually learned was that the cost of hiding extends far beyond the thing we're trying to conceal. It affects our relationships, our sense of belonging, and the energy we have available to fully engage in life and work.
